The Little Blue Dragon is the story of a young dragon who gets caught in a hurricane and separated from her mother. She bravely embarks on a journey to find her, which takes her to the four corners of the world, where she meets compassionate strangers who offer support in a variety of ways. The story concludes when the Little Blue Dragon forms a tender, unexpected and mutually beneficial friendship, and realizes she has gained tremendous new strength along the way. She and her companion continue the journey together with a new happiness and increased confidence in themselves and each other. This story addresses loss, childhood trauma, separation from a parent, with discussion questions and activities at the back of the book. For ages 4+.
"A lovely story that addresses loss, with beautiful illustrations! The open-ended nature of the ending allows children to interpret it in the way that makes sense from their own experience."
"I love it! The images are beautiful and innovative. The story is tender, engaging, and so relevant. Children will be inspired by The Little Blue Dragon's courageous journey, and how she found a wonderful new friend as well as her own voice along the way."
"My sons listened intently from the very first page. My eldest lay his head on my shoulder when Rocky tells the Little Blue Dragon, ‘A mother's love is forever, even if she can't always be with you.’ I so appreciate the great discussion questions at the end, encouraging us to express our feelings. It's a beautiful story!”
